Magic items can be created by sufficiently powerful Mages, certain other Creatures, or powerful beings. These items will generally fall into one of two categories: passive (armor, weapons, potions, miscellaneous items), and active (wands, staffs, scrolls).

Passive items take no magic ability to use. The magic has been Sealed in the object itself and remains active at all times (or waiting to be activated, such as when a potion is consumed). They include:

• Armor
• Weapons
• Potions
• Miscellaneous Items

Active items can only be used by a Mage of the appropriate ability. Specifically, the user’s Maximum Spell Level must be equal to or higher than the item’s Spell Level.

• Staves
• Wands
