fae
                Fae
The exact origin and different types of fae are not well understood or even agreed upon among scholars. The alien nature of their thinking (and some argue they don’t truly think), their variety, and their elusiveness makes them difficult to study.
It is generally agreed that the fae have the following characteristics:
- Appear to be created by, or drawn to areas of magic and life. If completely cut off from magic they will eventually die.
 - Appear to get their sustenance from these areas and don’t need food or water.
 - Are incorporeal, but can change to corporeal at will.
 - Individuals can combine to cast higher (non-ritual) magic.
 - Have alien intelligence and think differently than humanoids and goblinoids.
 - Different species rarely cooperate with each other and if living in close proximity tend to have distinct and separate territory.
