Parasitic Crawler

The parasitic crawler is a 9 foot long caterpillar-like creature with subdued coloring. Omnivorous and usually subsisting on carrion, the crawler has eight 2 foot tentacles in a cluster above the mouth that can attack its prey. A successful initial hit means that tentacle has grabbed the indicated body part. A character so entrapped can make a strength save once every movement phase- success meaning the grip of one tentacle has been broken. Any attached tentacle automatically hits every time with a doubled chance for a critical. A critical hit or hit against a target with no armor will paralyze the victim for 2D4+4 rounds unless they make a CON save for no effect. Carrion crawlers often lay their eggs in paralyzed victims. A body location roll of 20 against a crawler that causes a Light (or worse) Wound will usually destroy one tentacle in addition to the Wound.

The crawler focuses its attacks on one potential victim, using short strokes to wrap up and paralyze. Once successful the crawler will usually try to escape with its prey.
